CARRIAGEWAY KINGDOM

Whilst I’m not particularly a fan of how this drawing looks, I’ve decided to place it on my website regardless, since I feel it marked a turning point in my path as an illustrator. This is a drawing I did during my first year of University, and it marks the moment where I began to feel more confident in the type of work that I wanted to create.

Up until this point I’d been exploring a variety of different mediums and techniques, but I hadn’t been able to find a way of working that I truly loved and enjoyed. When I completed this drawing, I realised that I really enjoyed creating the detailed fineliner drawings that I do now, and whilst this particular illustration is really quite scrappy (in both the linework and the colouring), I think it’s important to note that it set me on the path to where I am now.
